SAWN TIMBER

SAWN TIMBER — edged sawn timber made from Karelian spruce and pine, kiln-dried and finally graded. The finished sawn timber is prepared for storage and transportation in accordance with the agreed order specification.

• Karelian spruce and pine
• Kiln drying to the specified moisture content
• Grading by quality, length, thickness and width
• Assembly, pressing and labelling of finished packs
• Protective packaging for storage and transportation

HOW IS IT PRODUCED?
After sawing, the sawn timber is sorted by dimensions and assembled into kiln packs. The drying schedule is determined according to the wood species, timber thickness and required moisture content.

At the final stage, the sawn timber is graded by quality and length. The finished products are assembled into packs, pressed, wrapped in protective film and assigned a unique identification number.

HOW IS IT SUPPLIED?
Batch volumes, dimensions, grade, moisture content, packaging format and dispatch terms are agreed individually in accordance with the order specification.
FROM KARELIAN FORESTS TO READY-TO-SHIP PRODUCTS
Production is based on spruce and pine harvested in the forests of Karelia. The company’s own timber resource base enables the mill to secure the required volume of wood and consistently control its movement from harvesting to arrival at the production site.

The preparation of future sawn timber begins before sawing. Sawlogs are sorted by species, length and diameter, after which the optimal cutting pattern is determined for each group.

The timber then undergoes debarking, sawing, kiln drying and final grading. The finished sawn timber is assembled into labelled packs and prepared for storage and onward transportation.

This process produces finished products with the agreed quality, moisture content and dimensional parameters, selected and prepared to meet the requirements of each specific shipment.
